Founded in 1863, the Gardens consists of 21 hectares of horticultural displays, several conservatories, memorials, garden art and walking tracks. With cafe, a visitor centre, playgrounds, toilets, paddling pool, onsite parking and plenty of picnic spots it is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy with family and friends.
The area provides a perfect backdrop for photos in any season - be it amongst the daffodil fields near the hospital, under the cherry blossoms next to Harper Ave, in the piles of autumn leaves or feeding the ducks on the banks of the Avon River in the sun. Admission is free. Good wheelchair access.
Open everyday (except Christmas). The gates are open from 7am-6.30pm, the Visitor Centre and ilex Cafe is open 7 days 9am-5pm.
